The challenge
Goodwood required a venue access control solution across the entire estate that could handle a footfall up to 100,000 using handheld PDAs.
These devices have to automatically switch between reading barcodes, smartcards and paper ticket media.
Additionally, the access management system needed to provide real-time reports to all departments on the state of ingress and egress.
The solution
The addition of a card based membership and venue access solution combined with multimedia mobile scanners to help staff to maintain good flow-rates into the event and also mark exiting tickets for re-entry.
The results
Today, the TeamCard venue access system is at the centre of Goodwood’s operations for all of its public events. Plus, the system is now being extended beyond the motor-sport events to embrace horseracing.
